The August 12, 2026 solar eclipse will be visible from the western part of Iceland. The area of maximum totality is off the west coast of Iceland; if you want to get there, just about the only way is on an Iceland eclipse cruise ship!
Here is a list of all of the options we know about here at Iceland Step by Step. We’ve limited this list of Iceland eclipse cruises only to those that start and end in Reykjavik.
Iceland Step by Step’s group eclipse tour
We have a block of staterooms on what we think is the best small ship cruise out there, at prices that are much lower than any of the small ship options you’ll see below. We can’t share details publicly, other than to tell you that the cruise is sold out directly through the cruise line. But please reach out for more information about the staterooms we have remaining! The cruise dates are August 7-14, 2026.
Celebrity Iceland Eclipse Cruise
This is the least expensive Reykjavik round-trip Iceland eclipse cruise we know about. The cruise is 7 nights, from August 8-15 2026.
This is not a small ship cruise; hence the less expensive price. The ship is the Celebrity Silhouette, which holds 2,886 passengers.
Prices start at $2,391 per person, though that’s for an inside room. You’ll likely want to pay at least a few hundred dollars more for a window.
Atlas Ocean Voyages Iceland Eclipse Cruise
Atlas is offering a 9-night solar eclipse expedition cruise. This cruise starts and ends in Iceland, but it spends a few days in Greenland too!
Prices start at $10,799 per person, but there are only a couple of these rooms left. Balcony rooms start just over a thousand dollars more. The cruise is from August 11-20.
TravelQuest Greenland and Iceland Eclipse cruise
I won’t spend much time on this one, since it is sold out, and there’s a waitlist. And prices start at more than $20,000 per person! But it sure looks like a nice cruise.
Why Reykjavik Roundtrip Iceland Eclipse Cruises?
We’re Iceland experts, so of course we’re drawn to the Iceland eclipse cruises that start and end in Reykjavik. And, our expertise and save you time and make for a better trip. I’ve been able to save people $500 per person just on airport transportation compared to what the cruise companies want to charge you. And, since I can also recommend third party excursions that may be much cheaper than the cruise line options, you could end up saving $1,000 per person or more on your Iceland eclipse cruise.
But, I also like the style and pacing of Iceland cruises. Iceland is a small country, about the size of Kentucky. There are typically no days at sea on an Iceland cruise. Usually you spend the day at one port, and then sail overnight and arrive at a new port in the morning.
Working with Iceland Step by Step for your Iceland Eclipse Cruise
We only do Iceland travel. We’ve done some of the cruises mentioned here, including the one we have a group of rooms for. We offer each client personalized assistance, and we keep track of what’s happening in Iceland. When a volcano erupted in Iceland last summer, we notified our clients and changed their itineraries as needed.
