There are dozens of premium thermal spas in Iceland, all using naturally geothermal heated water. Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon, Mývatn Nature Baths, and the soon to open Laugarás Lagoon.
These are premium experiences with expansive swimming areas. The Blue Lagoon is the biggest of all, with its famous milky blue water:

But that warm relaxing water doesn’t come cheap. Let’s choose an arbitrary busy day in the summer, say July 15th. The Blue Lagoon uses demand-based pricing, so more popular times cost more. But even that 7 AM entry time costs over $100 (all prices are in US dollars, and may fluctuate with currency values):

Sky Lagoon is also a fantastic option and close to Reykjavik and the ocean:

But the Secret Lagoon has also raised prices dramatically since they opened in 2021, and that July 15th visit currently costs $125, or $157 if you want the great seven step ritual add-on (with a “cool “cold” plunge, a sauna, a salt scrub and more.)
Every single one of these thermal baths is amazing. But the price can add up for larger groups!
The Secret Lagoon in Iceland
The Secret Lagoon is a different story. It’s still a fantastic place, in the heart of Iceland’s Golden Circle:

But the price is dramatically lower. Want to visit on July 15th? That will cost $33 for adults, and exactly $0 for kids 0-14. (The Blue Lagoon is free for kids 2-13, and the Sky Lagoon doesn’t allow kids under 12.)
Better yet, show up when they open at 10 AM, and you might almost (or literally) have the place to yourself:

The Secret Lagoon is in an active geothermal area; see if you can catch the tiny eruption of their geysir at the back corner of the lagoon:

You won’t find fancy changing rooms here, or fancy food; just a few snacks and drinks. But if you’re looking for a relaxing time in warm geothermal water, The Secret Lagoon is a great experience, and a great deal.
