Iceland 2027: Saving Money with our Group Cruise Tour

October 25, 2026 by Eric

Some people have asked me for more details about the savings built in to our July 2027 Iceland Land / Cruise Tour. I think they are looking for ammunition to convince themselves or their family or friends to sign up for the trip. So here’s a breakdown of some of the ways you’re saving on this luxury trip:

Discounted Iceland Cruise Fare

I have locked-in rates for the cruise portion of the trip, which is 7 out of the 11 days of the tour. If you wanted to book this cruise today, the price would be about $3,500 more than my rates. And that’s per person!

Like that more expensive rate, the price includes:

  • Unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (including a fully stocked refrigerator in your stateroom)
  • Unlimited WiFi
  • Gratuities
  • All meals, 24 hour room service, and specialty dining in 2 additional restaurants
  • A suite on a luxury cruise ship, with 312 passengers or less

Less expensive Iceland excursions

I’ve been planning Iceland trips for years, and I have a roster of my favorite excursions in each port. These are excursions not offered by the cruise line, which makes them significantly less expensive. (And often better: If a tour can only take 20 people, the cruise line might not be willing to work with them; they’d rather be able to offer the tour to more passengers.)

But my group will be smaller, and we can use the smaller local providers. As one example, whale watching that the cruise line charges $329 for might only cost you $200, maybe with a different company. I can pass those savings on to you.

Note that none of these prices really matter to you– excursions are included in the price of the tour! But you’re saving $500 or more vs. paying for cruise line excursions.

Less expensive (or better) airport transfers

Cruise lines tend to price airport transfers per person rather than per group. And the often charge $200+ per person, so $400 for a private airport transfer for 2 people. We can do it for about half that for 2-3 people, saving you $200 or more each way for your airport transfer.

Or for about $100 per person, the cruise line may put you on a large bus group transfer. With us you get a private transfer for the same price.

Reasonable Airfare Prices (for now)

Jet fuel prices are near record highs, but some airlines have been slow to raise prices. This may not last for much longer, but for now you can still find airfare to Iceland for $1,000 or less from many US cities:

And fares from nonstop hubs are much lower:

If fuel prices stay high, these low prices might not be available for much longer.

Joining our 2027 Iceland group cruise tour

Feel free to e-mail us for more information, or you can also grab a time on our calendar. We’re happy to customize the trip for you. For example, you can skip the group tour and just focus on the cruise; cruise only fares begin around $4,700 per person. We can show you the savings on that part of the trip on a video call.

We’d love you have you join us in Iceland in July! See more details in the main Iceland cruise tour post, or contact us for more details or to sign up!
