But if you want more help, you’ll want to sign up for our custom itinerary planning service. We work with you one on one to create a relentlessly customized itinerary for your group. Are you traveling with babies or toddlers? No problem. Are the grandparents coming too? We know how to handle that too. Older kids who hate museums and hiking? We can plan for that.
Here’s how the process works:
- A one on one video call.
We’ll do a video call with your family to understand exactly what you’re looking for. We’ll ask you dozens of questions to learn what you want in your Iceland vacation. Airbnbs or hotels? Restaurants or cooking at your lodging? Boats or no boats? We’ll dive deep and really understand your family. - Lodging recommendations
We will then send you exact lodging recommendations for each night based on your itinerary. Check out our sample Iceland itinerary to see what it will look like. Note that your itinerary will look very different– no 2 itineraries we plan are ever the same!
You can book the lodging, or we can book most lodging for you. Except for Airbnbs- those you have to book on your own. We’ll always tell you if it will be cheaper for you to book directly. (We may receive a commission if we do the bookings, but we never choose a property based on the commission. You pay us a planning fee to create the best trip possible.) - Tour recommendations
We will give you detailed self-tour guides for your trip. If you’re visiting Iceland’s Golden Circle one day, we’ll include self-drive touring instructions for no additional charge.
But sometimes paying for a tour makes sense. If you’re going on a whale watching trip, or a glacier hike, or taking a ferry to the Westman Islands, we’ll tell you which tour to book and at what time. Sometimes we can book it for you, but most of the time you will book the tour yourself based on our recommendation. - Dining recommendations
We’ll recommend kid-friendly places to eat. Even many expensive restaurants in Iceland offer reasonably-priced kid’s menus. We can find you luxury dining, simple sit-down meals, or takeout options. If you want, some nights, we can have you cook something in your rental house or apartment; we’ll even include hours for a nearby grocery store! Supermarkets in Iceland have very reasonable prices,and an assortment of foods the whole family will enjoy.
